SCAE; World of Coffee, Maastricht 2011

World of Coffee set to bring 5,000 coffee lovers to Maastricht June 22 – 24, 2011

The Speciality Coffee Association of Europe is calling all coffee lovers to gather for its annual event, World of Coffee, in Maastricht, June 22 - 24, 2011.

Activities in the beautiful mediaeval city of Maastricht will be highlighted by the 2011 editions of the World Coffee Events Championships, which will bring the best baristas and coffee experts from all over the world together to compete for the ultimate prizes in several disciplines.

Up for grabs will be the top honours in the World Latte Art Championship, the World Coffee in Good Spirits Championship, the World Cup Tasters Championship and the World Cezve/Ibrik Championship, and the 2011 winner of the coveted Best Nation award--honouring the most successful competing country's coffee team--will also be announced.

Accompanying the competitions will be a buzzing trade Exhibition, showcasing the latest trends in the speciality coffee sector. To be held at Maastricht's MECC exhibition centre, the show will be at the heart of the World of Coffee event, and the place to see what is new in coffee in 2011.

Also on offer during the event will be a series of practical, hands-on Workshops covering all aspects of coffee processing, preparation and service.

Social Events at World of Coffee are bound to be special and memorable, and will include a reception in the lovely and venerable Maastricht Town Hall.

Special transport arrangements have already been made for the event, and the SCAE’s Dutch chapter are working with the Events team to produce three days of high-powered coffee activities and fun.

About 5,000 are expected at this unmissable event, which already promises to be the premier speciality coffee gathering in Europe in 2011, so mark the date in your diaries and make sure you are there!

Further details of the packed schedule being planned for World of Coffee will be announced on the SCAE website www.scae.com, and you can also contact Event Coordinator Amanda Webb at the SCAE, at amanda@scae.com.
